Spinel

Spyglass Designs' spinel jewelry is handcrafted in earrings and necklaces set in 14k solid gold, 14k gold-filled, and sterling silver. Black spinel is the workhorse of a jewelry box — deep opaque black with a hard bright sparkle, close enough to black diamond in appearance that it stands in for it beautifully at a fraction of the cost.

Each piece is designed with the same casual, classic elegance as the rest of our collection — simple enough for everyday wear, polished enough for something special. You'll find faceted and smooth drops from an inch to two and a half, bezel-set pairs, cluster chandeliers, and beaded and bezel-set necklaces including a four-strand design. One necklace carries a mystic peacock blue finish, and there's a red spinel necklace for something less neutral.

Black spinel is also the stone we pair with others most often — you'll see it in cluster earrings alongside topaz, garnet, pyrite, sapphire and moonstone throughout the shop.
