    Spyglass Designs' sapphire jewelry is handcrafted in earrings, necklaces, and bracelets set in 14k solid gold, 14k gold-filled, and sterling silver. Sapphire is corundum, the same mineral as ruby, and it comes in every color except red — red corundum is ruby. It's the birthstone for September.

    Our natural sapphire is the heart of this collection, and much of it is raw: rough stones faceted and polished but left in their natural off-round shapes, bezel set in pairs. You'll find them in deep blue, pinkish and dark red, brownish red, muted pink, and white, alongside beaded and solid strand necklaces in colors that are genuinely hard to find — Madagascar blue, champagne yellow with its characteristic inclusions, tundra multi-color, and soft pastel strands of yellow, pink, lavender, green and white.

    Alongside natural sapphire, we also carry simulated sapphire — stones cut and colored to match at a fraction of the price. Fine blue sapphire in matched pairs is among the most expensive material in any jewelry box, so simulated stones are the practical way to wear these colors day to day. You'll find them in blue, cobalt, Kashmir blue, hot pink and fuchsia. Every product title tells you which you're getting, so there's never any guesswork.
